Frequently Asked Questions

Are braces considered orthodontic?

Here’s the scoop from your Calgary orthodontic superheroes at Antosz Vincelli Orthodontics: "Orthodontia" is a branch of dentistry. The word “orthodontics” is of Greek roots: “ortho” meaning “straight” and “odont” meaning “tooth.” As befits its name, orthodontia deals with teeth and jaw irregularities. Braces, therefore, which are used to help realign misaligned teeth, would be considered orthodontic treatment.

Invisalign® are clear aligners. One of the advantages is that they are virtually invisible. So, people will not notice them like when you wear braces. However, Invisalign® aligners do not suit every case.

The professional, experienced, Calgary orthodontics team of Dr. Antosz and Dr. Vincelli will be able to assess your case and select the orthodontic treatment that will give optimum results. The next step is speaking about costs and discussing which payment plan (such as pay-in-full or flexible payments) will best suit your needs.
